finding a job

My husband is looking into a job opportunity that will require us to relocate to Bermuda for 6 months. During this period, we will keep our home here in the US and have to continue to pay our mortgage, etc. Since I will have to leave my job here, we will most likely need some extra income. Will it be possible for me to work while I am there? Although I have a degree and could work in a professional setting, I would be willing to work in retail, a restaurant, or any type of office job.

How do I go about this? Also, if it helps, I am an editor for magazines and Web sites right now. But as I said, I wouldn't necessarily have to have a job in this field.

To get a jod here you will have to get a work permit as well and it all depends on whether a qualified Bermudian or spouse of a Bermudian applies for the job. A couple of web sites you could look up are: http://www.berumdajobs.com or the Royal Gazette newspaper http://www.theroyalgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/classifieds?Category=DISPLAY to find jobs being advertised. The company that employs you applies for the work permit from the government. You can apply to seek employment when you are here but it can take sometime.

Hope that helps and good luck.
