If you are moving on your own, you could either do a house share or a bachelors apt to save money. Emoo is the best place to find a place to live or use a relocation company...

Short answer is yes. You will need up to $2500 per month for housing if living alone, $400 for mobile, internet and TV, $500 per month for gas, electricity. which leaves you with enough for food and clothes. Plus capital outlay of $3K for moped or twice that for car.

Don't forget utilities such as water and gas. They will charge you at least a $500.00 supplement because you are an expat. driving is hard here. You need to pass the Bermuda driving test, which isn't easy. Make sure you bring lots of money with you for rent and setting up costs. Bermuda is not one of the most welcoming countries and that is an understatement. You need a thick skin to survive here.

I think all people have different experiences in Bermuda. Bermudians do not charge you more because you are an expat.

Depends on the size of your house.. Our electriicity bill on an average is 200.00 amonth for a two bedroom house.. The price is higher in the Summer when the air con goes on.

Indeed the utility companies do charge $500.00 more when the utilities are connected. It is refunded when you leave Bermuda. but it makes the cost of living higher when you arrive.

the biggest shocker you will have is the price of food....2 to 3 times more costly! A average sandwich in a restaurant is at least $15

The higher costs can for most be offset by the lack of income tax. Depending where you are from, it is generally possible to arrange your banking and finances such that you pay little or no income tax back to the government of your home country. Bermuda itself has no income taxes.
On an income of $85K, that could easily save you $20K+ per year, which goes a long way toward paying higher rent, food and utilities.
If you are solo, you might be happiest with a basic 1 bedroom, which can be found within a reasonable commute to Hamilton for around $1,500/mo. If you rent a small place, you'll save on electricity, as air conditioning a small place is obviously cheaper.
Socially, Bermuda is an outdoorsy, go out sort of place. Your home is needed primarily as a place to sleep, shower and watch TV/read on slow evenings.
