Hi
I'm moving to Bermuda and was wondering what would be the best parish to look for an apartment to rent? I am single so will be moving on my own. I want to be close to bars and restaurants etc and not too far from Hamilton. Also want to be close to the beaches. Was thinking the south shore but not sure which area would be best for someone in my situation? Any help would be much appreciated!

I just moved here and work in Hamilton, currently I live in the parish of Warwick close to shopping store and 15 minutes from Hamilton. Finding an apartment is pretty easy lots available Warwick is very nice I get to take the ferry each morning to Hamilton.

Nope I asked people at the my new work place. Just to let you know I looked up a lot about Bermuda on google and 80% of the bad stuff is not true. This is the most wonderful Island with amazing and caring people. I can ask my Land lady if there are any apartments here available. Where are you coming from?

Yeah I saw a lot of negative stuff so good to know it's not true! That would be great if you could ask you land lady about any apartments. I'm moving beginning of October but i have paid for accommodation for a month so would be looking for somewhere from mid October.

You have lots of people from UK here. Dress for summer light.
When you leave let me know I can give you contact info. Everything is imported so expect to pay more than you are used to.

Hi, I'm thinking of moving too and will be working in Hamilton. I have visited Bermuda to check it out and just love the place. I was thinking of Warwick as well, and tried the ferry out for commuting, don't fancy the narrow lanes! Could you help me find a reasonable single bedroom place to live around Warwick? If things go well I'm looking at February 2016 for the move.

Hi Nikki2015, I visited the island to have a good look around and its fabulous. Its very expensive though, and I've even looked around supermarkets etc to work out costs. I'm hoping to get there for February 2016. Inbox me if you want any specific details, it would be good to swap notes and help each other :-)

Hi Nikki2015, the best way to find houseshares is either through emoo.bm which is the Bermuda local classifieds site, or through networking once you get here. There's always people coming and going so it's rare for people to have trouble finding housing. Expect to pay anywhere between 1200-1700 to share (depending on location, size of place, whether its furnished etc.). Basically you get what you pay for. Lots of expats tend to live in Paget/Warwick area. Close to town and beaches.
Expect to pay a lot for produce. I find meat and dry goods to be comparable to Toronto prices (which is also expensive). But you save a lot on not having to maintain a car.

Try reaching out to Horizons & Cottages. Former Relais Chateau property that now rents rooms on a monthly basis. Centrally located in Paget parish, walk to the beach and grocery store, bus stop outside and close to town. Call 441 239 7200

Hi, What is reasonable? The cost is from $2000 a month. beware and read you rental agreement very carefully because when you leave and lets face it you will have to one day, you could be in for a shock

while I don;t know the best parish for a single person, i will tell you that the churches on the island are very welcoming to all. I am an anomaly: a single working woman without a rich husband, and the Scottish Presbyterian Christ Church in Warwick has been wonderful to me.
I agree with previous comments: look at your rental agreement carefully, and expect to pay $2000/mo per bedroom. Do your research; google earth the area because the real estate agents here are like any where else. Good luck to you.

Yes, I would definitely recommend Warwick. you can take the ferry to Hamilton and the beaches are close as well. Studios will average $1100/mo. One bedrooms $1500-$1800/mo. Check on the cost of utilities.

Have a look on Bermuda emoo. That's where all the selling of wind hand stuff and apartments are found.
