Hello,
I am a recent college graduate from the USA. I have absolutely fell in love with Bermuda and want to get a job and move there ( many of my friends are Bermudian citizens). I looked at some Bermudian job websites but you need to have 5+ years of experience and a masters. Is there any advice you can give to me to find a job?
Thank you!

Focus on the sorts of jobs that are performed by expats here and familiarise yourself with the work-permit process, so that you are informed and know what to expect.
If you are a student actuary, with experience in reinsurance, for example, I would say that your chances are good.
But it's a small island and there aren't that many jobs available to expats with limited work experience, so you'll have to work at it and may have to work towards getting the experience you need, before you will have any chance of getting a work permit.

As a new graduate you have very little chance of getting a trainee or junior position on island, as most of those opportunities are for Bermudians only. Your best opportunity would be to qualify as an accountant and try to get a posting with one of the big 4 firms. You will need to be a newly qualified CA for them to hire you. Otherwise, get work experience in the US for a few years, and apply for an experienced hire position. However, if a local Bermudian with the same qualifications and experience applies, they will give the job to them. For a sense of the type of jobs on island, look at the Bermuda Job Board or the employment section in the Royal Gazette.
Good luck.

Dear Eric123;
In order to get a Bermuda, you have to apply for a job living outside of Bermuda. It is illegal to look for a job on island. So.....research and apply for jobs on the internet and hope you get an interview and an offer. Your employer will get you a work permit. this is the only way.
Please know that most work permits are issued for only three months. Your employer has the option of renewing your work permit for an extended period of time.
It is illegal to change or look for a second job once on the island. Also, you must stay within your job description 100% or you will be asked to leave the island. All it takes is one person to call immigration and you are on the next plane back to the States. In other words, you are at the complete mercy of your employer.
Please note that living on the island is far different form visiting the island. What you need to do is weigh your salary against the cost of housing, food, and transportation and normal living expenses and decide if you can survive.
