" Hello everyone: I moved from Atlanta to Brazil a week ago to a city in the interior called Uberlandia. It is approz. 2 hrs north of Sao Paulo by Air. I decided to throw myself in the culture right away to feel comfortable and at home. I have had a lot of support from the folks I work with and really am enjoying myself. Life is much calmer here and things are more affordable relative to the US. I have adjusted well and feel my transition to have been fairly painless. The only issue I am having at the moment is the language barrier. Not many people here speak English, so learning Portuguese is my top priority. If I can be of assistance to anyone, drop me a note. " Gene: All I have to say is, What a country!! I have been in Uberlandia now for 1 week and so far I like it alot. I am working as a consultant for CTBC Telecom. We have several girls here from your area that work here. I will be here for approx. 2 yrs should things work out. Is your city like Dallas because it has big beautiful women or because for the weather and geography? What do you do there? Also, do you know other americans in theis area? It can get lonely on weekends especially if you don''t speak the language. I start my Portuguese classes tomorrow. Any other information to acclamate me well or things I should be aware of or should know etc would be appreciated. By the way, I have learned that a Hamburger is not really a hamburger....I suspect you know what I mean. Also, the women in this country sure are sexy. Man, my hormones are flying all over the place. Mike "
