That will depend on what kind of work you will do, the size of the company and its location. You may have to work a bit more in Brazil (44 hours/week) than in the US, and make a lot less, except if you have an expatriate arrangement in a US multinational corp. But in general, cost of living here is much lower, including rent. food, clothing, furniture, appliances, etc. I don't see any major differences in the work place per se as I see in culture, food, climate and clothing. It may be an exciting experience for you if you develop Brazilian Portuguese language skills so as to communicate well with local folks. I hear there is a huge concentration of BR immigrants in Newark, and they may help you get familiar with the language and the food. I was told it all started with PT fishermen who migrated to Newark in the beginning of last century. Hope you get it. Should you have any further questions, please let me know.
