thinking of moving to ilheus/itacaré

Wondering if anyone has any experience in ilheus/itacaré area. I live in Florianopolis. I 've been here with my kids 6 months and I can't seem to adapt. I used to live in Paraty, but the educational system there made me reconsider and move to Florianopolis. There is a good school in Serra Grande (between itacaré and ilhes), but I'm worried I wouldn't adapt to the ilheus region either? Any advice, experiences or opinions about the region would be nice. I don't know anyone there. I'll need to find a house to rent with a yard...if anyone has contacts...
