How to get to live and work in Brazil?

Hi, I have a Brazilian girlfriend, I really want to be with her - we are talking about going to Brazil to live. I have looked into it just a little bit, and I can see that I might need this kind of visa: http://copenhague.itamaraty.gov.br/en-us/temporary_visa.xml#TypeV

Ie. it seems that I MUST have a job, THEN get a visa. Is it not, in any way, possible to go and live in Brazli, and then find the job there?

If I should manage to find a job and get the visa, would it then be easy to get the visa renewed at expiry? Or that is not something that should be taken for granted as long as I hhave a job?

How long is it possible to stay there without the visa, is it 3 months?

I guess any information on the beureaucratic side of things would be great - how can a foreigner with a Brazialian girlfriend move to Brazil?

Hi thee!
Best you can do is to come for whatever time is on your tourist visa, up to 6 months...look for something when you are here, then apply back in your home country for a permanent visa based on your work in Brazil. I don't think you can apply for the permanencia here, but it's worth checking with a lawyer here when you visit.

Hey, you can stay 3 months on a tourist visa and then extend it one time for 3 more months. From what I hear it is very expensive and complicated for a Brazilian company to hire a foreigner so you'll need a multinational with deep pockets that perhaps can justify your hire because of language reasons. Another option is to marry the girl. there are various forms of marriage including one in which neither party has the right to claim support from the other in the event of a divorce. Good luck.
