Hi

We've been traveling the world, got to Brazil and need to go back to the UK very soon. We'd prefer to leave our truck here in Brazil for a few years - planning to eventually come back, get it started and drive back round to Russia or somewhere.

It's a lovely little camper with kitchen, shower, loads of storage, solar panel and all the tools - we're looking for somewhere friendly to park it for a very extended amount of time. It shouldn't be driven while I'm out of the country but can be used as a nice little caravan, trailer or shack on an eco-farm community or organic hostel or something like that.

Anyone got any ideas?

You can check the truck and us out at www.earthcircuit.org

A couple of things to remember about vehicle storage. Vehicle should be driven at least once every 2 months preferably once a month. Fuel goes bad in about 4 months and the engine oil in a year if setting. Brakes also go bad sitting. Tires and all the oil seals also go bad sitting. Battery is gone after about 3 months.

Additionally you will have to pay late fees on the vehicle license if not kept up. I paid as much in late fees as the license cost.

I had to replace the timing belt and water pump. It was a big chore to get the fuel system cleaned for our Honda to run right. This year I took something called StaBul from the US to add to the fuel for storage. It is supposed to keep the fuel from going bad up to a year.

We pay for the repairs and other costs because it is cheaper for us than a rental car for our 3 months a year.
