Post New Topic

I am looking for some info regarding the fastest way to go about obtaining a visa for my husband. I am an American citizen who has been living overseas for the past 20years. I have not been able to get much info from the US embassy so was hoping to maybe get some advice from someone here. Has anyone had any experience with filing a spouse visa such as K3 or I-130? What about the DCF? Thank you

I would suggest this website www.visajounery.com I used it to get successful visa for my ex wife before she refused it and ask for divorce. I took me over a year but did get approval she just did not go to the last step interview.

We've been in process over a year and spent nearly $7000.00 the hurdles are high and very complicated. A lawyer with expertise is a must. Sorry and good luck.

Can I ask you why it took so long and cost so much? Was your lawyer in the US or in Brasil?
I have not started the process yet, but was told that it takes about 6 months, and was quoted between $2500-$3500 US

My lawyer is in the US and she has a great record. Assembling all the required documents which are onerous. Took us 4 months including criminal records from everywhere we lived for the past 10 years. My partner had overstayed his visa on the last visit so automaticall incurred a 10 ban which will require a inadmissability waiver. Each process is estimated to be $6000. We've had lower quotes but found from clients of these that the final total was double the estimate. As well. The national visacenter just notified that they are on a 60 day backlog.

I did all myself using the website www.visajourney.com it's all people who are in the process and also been successful. It's free there is no cost to use the site. The government fee to submit the papers. I did a spouse and two children was around $400 a person I paid $1200. The only other cost was sending the papers. Once you are approved for interview cost another $265 per person also have submitted originals. First set copies always copy have second set. It has been taking close to a year for full process including interview at consulate in country of origin of applications. The lawyer can not do it faster and the services that charge you just check to see all the forms are filled out. The website I used gave me everything it's free www.visajourney.com These are real people doing the same process.

Personally, I fail to fathom what what generates the obsessive attraction to get into the USA, to begin with.

The only things the US has over on Brazil, is the Interstate surface transportation system, and a greater diversity of readily available international cuisines.

Considering 3-6-9 kaleidoscope of hurdles and obstacle courses the INS puts Brazilians thru, plus the astronomical costs, makes one begin to wonder, where is the actual trade-off?

Nothing obsessive about it. I need some expensive surgery that I'd have to pay cash for here in Brasil. Thanks to Obama care I cen get it covered there and I'll need my partner to help recover. But your dead right about the kaleidoscope of hurdels to maneuver. It's amoral and invasive.

Are you kidding me??? That the only difference? Trust me, there are many more. I lived in brazil for 10 years and i go there every 6 months on business..and I know there are many differences. Start with safety and the efficiency of getting things done on time.
