Mercosur benefits with Permanent residency in Brazil.

I'm an American and have permanent residency in Brazil. I am wondering if I get the Mercosur benefits that Brazilians get, such as easily being able to get residency in other south american countries etc.

Hi there,

It seems that unfortunately no:

I'm Brazilian and I went to Paraguay by bus. The guards didn't stop the bus when I entered nor when I left the country. So, I didn't present any documents at all, so I'd say they are not so strict if you're coming from Brazil. Also, I guess some of Mercosul countries don't require visas from Americans...

Cheers!

Have you thought of asking Brazil Immigration authorities about that?

Mere residency doesn't work, you would need citizenship.
