Unfortunately this is not a message giving you any information, Sorry!!

we are replying as we find ourselves in a similar situation to yourself. I am Paul and my wife is Jan and we are planning to move to Bulgaria in the not to distant future, but possibly like you find it hard to get reliable information, apart from stuff we find on the internet. Perhaps we can pick each others brains on stuff we both know or don't know.

Many thanks

Paul and Jan

Hi,

To get residency you have to live in BG for 5 years as you don't intend to get married for bulgarian or apply as refugee.

Regards,
Zdravko

Hi ,

I am a real estate agent , live in Sofia ,Bulgaria. If you have any questions about real proparty in the country i can give you proper information.
About way of living in Bulgaria, I should say, that country is getting better year after year, but still most of the natives here have hard live, becouse it is quwite poor country, not the best place to live in the world , that is why real estates are still cheap/but after Bulgaria join EU after 2 years it will be different/, there is free market nich for several businesses, but it is dengerous to invest your money here ,without excellant marketing research.
Some business people, i know, say that we still have coruption/ but less, than 3 years ago/, so for sure it is getting better, only you should be verry cearful ,with who and how you deal.
also another advice:dont believe 100% to bulgarian marketing research companies, sites on the net.Best way is, in my opinion,to find free time and to live in Bulgaria for 2-3 months, so that you can get more familiar with life here.
so if you have some questions feel free to ask!!!!

Hi To be able to get bulgarian residency you must fill in application form from the Bulgarian embassy in London. You can do this by downloading it from this site.
www.bulgarianembassy.org.uk This must be type D and you have to fill out two short stay entries.
You also must (Ithink) have either a company set up or an invitation from a Bulgarian. However you can get 30days in bulgaria with british passport with out visa. However do not extend this as they will fine you at the airport(this happened to somebody we know). Also you can bring in your pets with a passport but you can not return to the uk without your pets going into quarantine.
When you do get a visa a D visa you cann't leave Bulgaria for three months, so be aware.
Good luck
