We're going to be putting together an article entitled, 10 Tips for Living in Burma, and we need your help. Please post a reply to this thread with as many tips as you'd like (or as few) for expats living in Burma. Taxi are not with meter so have to bargain the fee. Taking taxi from some place to city and city to other place is different. Heading to the city is always cheaper(about 1000 kyats cheaper). Short distance will cost you at least 1000-1500 kyats.

carry cash, if usd which most places take it should be new looking not folded for the best rate
