" Does anyone here know how much money I should have in the account I provide as evidence of funds? Also, would it be better in Canadian dollars or should I leave in my UK bank. The reason I ask is the evidence of funds needs providing with the Visa application and until I sell my house (should get £20,000 profit)I only have around £2000 spare, so I was going to get a short term loan off the in-laws. Thanks in advance. "

The CHC will be looking for evidence that you can support yourself for at least 6 months without working. hhatssually about $8k Canadian per adult in the family and $2k I think per child. The visa application pack has this info I think. As for your house you will need to get if valued and this information put in writing as evidence of this asset. No need to convert any cash into Canadian until you have your visa and when you do watch the rate. Follow it on oanda.com Stuart Neal

" You need to show proof of at least $10,000 canadian. Having the funds in a Canadian bank is also much easier than dealing with a foreign bank. "
