I am an US citizen and recently started a new job in Canada. I plan to be here for a very long time so the first of the year want to move my furniture here so I can make arrangements to rent my Dallas condo. Only brought with me clothes, cats, and house plants without a problem. When you move used household goods into Canada what happens when you declare your audio / video electronics? It would help to hear from others who have moved their household goods into Canada. Thanks

Go to the Canadian immigrant site. You will find forms and the all the information you need regarding importation of your household goods. Also note you must list your goods and you cannot sell any of your goods for at least a year without paying duty on them. You must also have receipts if they are less than a certain period old. Good luck in your new job. I am moving to Vancouver.
