I am in the process of applying to emigrate to Canada. As I am 51 I was hoping that my qualifications may override this fact. To assist Ive been thinking of approaching a Specialist Immigration company for advice and assistance. Has any body used one of these companies and if so do you have an opinion as to whether they are worth a try or do they just take your money and run

You do not need to use a Company to come to Canada and my understand is that it is actually preferred if you apply yourself.

Go to Canada.ca and under Immigration you'll find everything you need to know and do.

IF you use a company they must declare they've helped with the form etc. Must easier and cost effective for you to fill all the forms yourself.

You go directly to Citizenship & Immigration art cic.ca If a company agrees to sponsor you or a Canadian spouse can sponsor you. Takes over 2 years and cost over $1,000. Lots of paperwork. The medical is tough and they check for tattoos (lower mark if you have them. The carefully investigate everything you say, every name you give. Make one mistake and you fail. They checked with all my wife's employers, neighbors, family & friends. If you have been arrested, then you are failed. Good Luck

Be careful about those companies because they are scam. My friend from the Philippines paid 4000 to a agency who arranged her papers and all. When she arrive to Canada there was not records of her applications in immigration. The best thing is go the website cic

Eve my wife tried twice these companies to get a tourist visa to Canada. We wated to get married there, and though I signed documents accepting financial responsibility, they were never going to give her a tourist visa since after we got married they knew she would apply for permanent residency from INSIDE Canada, which they didn't want. They wanted to screen her from OUTSIDE Canada. Their complete website is cic.gc.ca
