I might have the oppertunity to live in Canada Victoria there is already a house and a shop for my partner, I am from UK retired, would it be difficult for me to live in Canada permanently? I don't need to become a full citizen just want to settle there for good any ideas?

I know I can stay as a visitor for 6 months can I keep renewing visa for a certain length of time?

look at the Citizenship & Immigration CAN website cic,gc,ca If you don't have a sponsor then you get in under the economic visa's (working permit) but they are only good for 6 months if you get one. You need to become a Permanent Resident of Canada and get a Social Insurance Number. I sponsored my wife, and then it took 2 years.

You can come to Canada as a visitor however to stay here you need, at a minimum to be a Permanent Resident which means you will need a sponsor. The process take a couple of years to complete.
