Australians to Canada - where to live and work

My partner and I are Australian, in our early twenties and wanting to move to Canada in 2017 to live and work on a two year Visa.
We have no clue as to where we should move, we were interested in Calgary through Internet research but have heard that there aren't many jobs going there due to the downturn of the mines. My partner is a tradesman spray automotive spray painter with his rcg and rsa and is hoping to do bar work when we move. I am a beauty therapist with a fair bit of experience in hospitality as well so could fall back on that.
We are open to living anywhere and any suggestions you may have. We probably would prefer to live in a city or nearby though.
My older sister and her partner did moved to Canada before us and lived in Kelowna. This is an option too but again we aren't sure job wise what is best.
Thank you
