Actress moving to Canada

Hello. My name is Alexis and I came here looking for some advice. I am an actress and am beginning to look for representation in Canada. If it all works out, I would have an agent in Toronto soon. my plans would be to move to Toronto to be closer to my agent and get work in Canada. As everyone knows, acting isn't a stable job you work 5 days a week so I would have no proof of employment to apply for a work permit. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me when it comes to moving to Toronto and what my steps should be regarding a work permit, living there, or becoming a temporary or permanent resident.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but actors in Canadian productions have to get work visas in Canada. Best of luck to you.

Alexis
I assume you are living in the US ?
Toronto is a real artsy city so I would think you might fine a lot to do there. Your agent probably can answer your questions better than anyone as he is on the ground there. Prob not the first time he's had someone wanting to move to Canada.
Toronto is a great city.

Hello Alexis,
I'm an actor as well so I've been researching this topic.
You may want to go at this from a different angle. What's your support job in the country you currently reside?
You HAVE to be show proof of income.
Each Canadian province has slightly different requirements for entry so Ontario province is the info to focus on. I'm sending you my email via private contact so we can talk, There is a LOT of info. I mean a LOT! But I need to know the country your coming from so I can give you correct starting info for you.
