" Hi everybody, does anyone know where and how long takes to get a copy of a marriage certificate in Santiago de Chile? I''m living abroad and need to get one, so I want to be sure that a two days visit to Santiago would be enough. XS "

" Marco (or anyone else): I have friends that want to get married in Chile as well - do you know if the couple must spend a specific amount of time in Chile prior to obtaining their certificate? Also, will they need to have non-family witnesses (to affirm their marriage) present at the office? If you have any other tips on where to search for this information I would be grateful! Thank you! I assume you mean a Chilean marriage certificate. If this is the case you must go to the registro civil located in your comuna (town) and pay about U$1. Depending on when you go it could take 15-45 mins. Recommendation: go right after the reopen in the PM like 1 or so. Marco
