Where in Chile are you moving to? A lot depends on that. I live in Southern Chile, where my husband works at a mine. At first I wasn't even allowed to work. Now I have my Cedula de Identidad, and can work, but the town is very small and there are few opportunities. I have made money teaching English, however. That is in very high demand and can be a lot of fun to teach because the students are so willing to learn and so highly prepared. If you go to Santiago, you will of course have many opportunities. Let us know where you are going to go and this will help us provide better input. And good luck. You will have lots of fun, no matter what. Chile is wonderful!

Hi. So you´re going to Santiago? Great! You'll have lots of opportunities there. I am in Chile Chico right now, waay south from where you are. Even there, there is a lot of demand for English classes and it can be a lot of fun. Other than that....maybe there's work at the American Embassy? Anyway, good luck. If you wish to email me, you can at chaparrodebi@yahoo.com.
