I will probably be moving to Shanghai in September with my wife and 1.5 year old daughter. Does anybody have an experience with this? Are there specifics that you came across while moving with a very young child? I''d like to hear about both the good and bad experiences

" We moved to Shanghai in 1997 when my son was 4 years old. We had a wonderful 2 years there. Shanghai now has certainly progressed with goods and services from when we first arrived. You can get just about anything now. There are some concerns you should be aware of however. Make sure you get ALL required shots before entering into the country. Where do you plan to live makes a big difference as to how you will become part of the community. Are you coming from another expat assignemt or from the USA or else where. " My husband and I have a 3 year old and a 2 month old. We have the opportunity to move to Shanghai in a couple months. What advice would you give, espeially concerning newborns? What would we expect to pay for decent but not too luxurious housing? Lastly, how much more is the cost of living? P.S.Not knowing much Chinese is it easy to get around town, shopping? Thanks! "
