Hi,

I am marrying a man who is from a Chinese minority group. We will be living in China. Does the "One Child Rule" apply to us?

Thanks

People from minority groups are allowed 2 children, and anyone in a rural area is allowed another one. And now, after 4 years, people are also allowed a second child. And, if both parents are 'only child', they can also have a second child. Usually the 'rule' follows the woman. With such a high divorce rate, the restriction is tied to the woman. The rule does not apply to foreigners, but in your case, where you will be in a mixed marriage, I am not sure. Maybe contact someone at the embassy before you get married. Good luck!
