Bored in Beijing

I am quite new in Beijing and a kind of bored. Sure there are many things to do here, but what I am really missing is meeting people, who are interested in friendship. I know a lot of people from work, but don't want to spend all my sparetime with them. Of course going to clubs or bars is an option, but I am tired of smalltalk or meeting nice people and then never see them again in this huge city. I lived before in a smaller city in China were I had a nice and very international circle of friends (not only from my homecountry Germany), which I very enjoyed. Maybe there are other people, who feel like me in Beijing? Fell free to contact me.

Hi Silina,

Where in Beijing do you live? There is a group here in Beijing called the International Newcomers Network (their website is having some issues at the moment) and there is a fairly large German community in Beijing. But most expats live in the Chaoyang District making it alot more difficult to meet people if you live in another part of the city.
Contact me at christineATproject-dream.com if you want more information about these groups.
Cheers!

Dear bored in Beijing. I am not living in Beijin presently but hope to be doing exactly so in about two months time and I am quite sure that then I am going to need some friends! I will be teaching English at a language school for adults. Maybe you are willing to correspond with me and share your thoughts in the meantime. Hope to hear from you. Regards. Rina
