Wow! Super excited! I'm a guy 28 from Cape Town South Africa moving to Tianjin to work as an English Teacher for the next few years or so. Wondering if there are any other South Africans in Tianjin - but would also like to meet any one really...I'm a friendly guy and am looking to explore this exciting country and city!

Very exciting city from just a short visit.

Bullet train connects it to Beijing, only 29 minutes to the capital so you will have lots to see and do.

HeyO Cape Town Boy!
Welcome to China! The people here are wonderful, by and large. But they're their own people, we're just visitors in their eyes.
I'm in Beijing's SanLiTun area, and feel obligated to offer a small bit of advice. There is anti-African feeling in some minds, local as well as government, and especially in this area. That's because of Nigerians (mostly) who come as students, end up dealing drugs, getting drunk and hollering at the locals in English. They were kicked out of the country altogether for the Olympics, the security authorities clearly regard them as troublesome. Mind that you don't let yourself be seen as though you're one of them, or you'll be treated - and scrutinised - as they are.
