I am about to graduate USC and I think my name is on some mailing list after I signed up to do some volunteer work with an NGO in China. No less than six China Internship companies have been calling me on Skype and emailing me wanting me to pay money to go intern in China!
A guy from Gi2c in Beijing says this is normal. Is it?

My sister sent me some links and now I don't know what to believe:

Did any of you do a China internship? Please share your opinions soon as I want to come to China in June. Do I really have to pay $3,700 just to be an intern in China?

The easiest way to tell is that the genuine China job internships are offered for FREE directly by the sponsor company and and not a third party broker or "internship company". If someone wants you to pay money for an internship placement, it is a fraud scheme. Visit this this link for more details and a list of the best internships in China that can be verified:

If you have any doubts just google the key words of "China Internship Scams" and you'll see the black and the white hats popping up. You can also check the China Liars List at Scam.com. Good luck in China!
