I am very interested in relocating to Colombia. Unfortunately I have not seen much activity on these forums regarding this country. If there is anyone outhere that has information to share about the best place to look for work within the country or best online sites.... please share! I am fluent bilingual in Spanish/English. Work in the IT and aviation industry as a program/project manager with an engineering degree.

Thanks! Mil gracias!

I read your inquiry today. I am also looking to relocate to Bogota or Cartagena and have friends in Colombia that can be of limited assistance. I am looking to establish myself there, preferably by teaching English on the university level and, as I am a lawyer, perhaps by teaching or consulting with respect to American law and business. My Spanish is modest but can be imporved. Have you found any websites or other contacts which might prove to be beneficial? Barry Z.

moving for a reason? I am in my 2nd year here and I dont think its too hard to get a job here if you are willing to take a teaching job. My boyfriend taught 1st grade last year and high school this year and he had no certificate or experiance. but you might have missed your chance for this school year. I also have a friend who came down but ended up leaving after 6mo because he couldnt find a non-teaching job. depends how bad you wanna stay here

To repeat to the other post....why would really relocate in Colombia.

Being that you are an educated project manager and a foreigner makes you a prime object to be kidnapped by the FARC rebels. The situation has been getting WORSE not better. If you watch CNN en espanol they show (each week) the current foreigners being held by the FARC.

Really, put your skills and talent towards another country....take my advice.
