I am planning on doing a photo shoot in Colombia for three months in early 2005 and would like to find a small apartment or someone who would share part of a home during the period of Jan-05 to perhaps Apr-05 in Bogota.

Any help would be appreciated.

Juan

Hi,

Was just wondering whether you had any luck in findsing somewhere? and whether you would pass on any tips..... you see I too will be going there for a perios of 3 months, and don't want to spend a fortune on Hotels. Besides - they are so impersonal!

I am responding to your request for info on short-term housing, DianaMaria. I may be able to help you. I am a former New Yorker now permanently residing in Bogota. Tell me about yourself and your intentions in Bogota and perhaps I can locate a nice place for you very inexpensively. I have a beautiful apartment that I was able to find for six months until my property follows me here and I know the housing situation here very well from first-hand experience. Get back to me if you'd like and we'll discuss the possibilities.

Hi,
I am going over from europe for a short while to meet some family and get to know the potential for me in the city.
Would like a two bedroom apartment near the area of Cedritos, or somewhere close by. I have not decided how long I will stay, though I have in mind somewhere between three and six months. Planning to be there by the last week in October. Any help would be much appreciated.
How is it you came to be living in Bogota?
Regards,
Diana

I am a former attorney from NYC and I relocated to Bogota about 3 months ago after visiting the country two times previously. The details are too involved to discuss here, simply that there are incredible business opportunities now for people from the US, and probably from Europe as well. The entire business, political, cutural and economic climate is changing for the better and now is the time to be here. Contrary to what you may have heard, Colombia is a beautiful country, Bogota is a fantastic city and the people are wonderful, especially to ex-pats. And the food! THE FOOD!!! Best restaurants in the world! Furthermore, Bogota is probably as safe now as any other capital city on the planet, although that certainly wasn't the case 5 years ago. I am single (divorced) and I am loving the life here. Tell me about yourself and when you plan on arriving. Is there anything I can do for you in the meantime? Are you single, how old, etc.? I can make great social connections for you as I have been very fortunate to surround myself with truly wonderful people and my social and professional contacts are ever-expanding. I don't know your finances and I'm guessing that you will need a furnished apartment. If possible, it might be best for you live in or around Zona Rosa on the north side or in the vicinity of 93rd at the Park. There's a specific area designated a "safe zone" for foreigners but don't be concerned - there are other nice and safe areas in the city. Zona Rosa is one of the coolest multi-use neighborhoods I have ever seen and both areas are filled with clubs, restaurants, shopping and some of the nicest housing in the city. Do you have family/friends here? If you are coming to check the city out for permanent residency trust me, you'll probably never leave. By the way, if you want to talk with me directly, go to www.Cloncom.com. and purchase a calling card for cheap telephone calls. I think GMT is 4 or 5 hours ahead ofBogota. If you want to do so, write me back and I'll give you my telephone number or just e-mail me at BZotkow@msn.com. I look forward to hearing from you. Barry.

Hi, I might be moving to Bogota to become fluent in Spanish after many years of formal education without immersion as well as to look for a job. I would love to know what you know about furnished short-term housing, living with a family, sharing with expats, etc.. I currently live and work in Washington DC and will also look for jobs in Bogota. I work in international public health focusing on developing countries and infectious diseases. I hope to become fluent in Spanish and have a job where I can practice my Spanish as well as do something interesting and rewarding. I have been in my career for some time now so i reall am open to doing new things and exploring what kind of opps. are out there. I would love to hear about your experience and get your advice and input. Thanks much
