Well, moving on to self importance lol.
I received a quote today from SURA and the cost for medical insurance is a little over 3 million pesos annually. Somewhat expensive comparing it to my current policy from Saludcoop.
So, if you are wondering and just looking into it before you move down here. I have friends who sell medical insurance policies.
Be safe out there.

I just found out through a friend that meds are including in my health plan. I will verify this and post. I'm so used to paying for meds from the states that this would be wonderful news.

We have Coomeva Medicina Prepagada (MP) and Coomeva EPS. My husband has been dealing with an undiagnosed illness for over 2 years (started after we arrived).
Regular medications are almost all covered by EPS, although there usually isn't choice in the brand to be dispensed (i.e. almost always generic). A nominal fee of between 1,800 and 2,800 COP is paid for each 30-day prescription. This has been great for us thusfar.
One-time treatments with medications that usually involved a surgical procedure (my husband has been having a tough couple of years) were usually paid for by MP.
Things not covered by either have been post-procedure eye drops for pain (not over the counter) and certain types of corticosteroids. Thankfully over the counter medications are cheap here in comparison to Australia and the US, and generic varieties are plentiful and very cheap. We haven't had any problem related to quality with the generic brands here.
For two people we're paying about 160k COP per month for EPS.

Thanks for sharing. As I have Saludcoop, I am still waiting for any governmental sanctions against them and exploring options on medical care. I currently pay 73k COP per month and so, the ramifications are immense.
My USA medical premium used to be close to 500/mo. USD.
Keep tuned in.

I really appreciate the medical insurance information. Any of us currently living in the US and thinking of moving abroad, that is one of the biggest concerns and considerations before we take the big step.

Let me add a small point also. If you have a condition, that needs a daily drug. It may not be available here, so be ready with a way to ship it from the states.

Morning Diego ,, The office was not really dirty, but the normal for here. Maybe swept daily, mopped weekly. Decent equipment, at least 15 years old. The Pharm, was probably the worst., old building and these folks love to stand in line, but that's the norm. Overall, good.

HEY Spank, are you actually living in Neiva? I ride through there on my motorcycle 3 or 4 years ago. Spent one night and it totally freaked me out. I felt like the only pretty girl in a minning camp of 500 horny miners.
How long have you been there?
I was on my way to Florencia however at that time the further south you go, the more risky it was. They had just kidnapped some forien workers in Florencia.
Let me know, Martin
