Teaching in Medellin

I am a senior in college studying dietetics. Although I love this major, I am not sure that it is my passion. I'm trying to learn Spanish but I would love more than anything to live in a country where I will have full immersion. I'm thinking about getting my TEFL certification soon so I can teach English as a second language in Colombia. I saw a company called Colomboworld Americano in Medellin that seemed like something I would like to apply to. If I do decide to go I would work here for about a year and save up money before going. I was wondering how hard is it to get a one bedroom apartment there. I don't need anything fancy but safety is a must for me. I don't need to live in the night life area because I do not party nor do I drink or smoke. Does anyone know any area that may be a good fit? Also, how much money should I save up for the move? Thanks to anyone who can help me. I am only 23 years old so this is fairly new to me but I am not quite sure what I would like to do just yet in life so I am thinking about taking some time out to live abroad and mature a bit before deciding on what I would like to go to grad school for.
