Bogota: In and out.

I just got back from Bogota last night. I had not been for a few years and travel was... interesting.

I flew Viva Colombia for the firs time, Cali/Bogota. It's cheap. $100.000 one way. They fly at odd hours. I arrived in the capital after midnight. But for the price it was quite good. It's no seat assignment like Southwest but boarding was quick and orderly. The A320 was slick and seemed new. And I felt I got every peso's worth for the 30 min. flight. (I spent more time than that taxing around the two airports and taking the bus from the no gate arrival in some dark corner of El Dorado.)

I we decided to take Bolivariana back to Cali. I had not seen "the line" in daylight. For my $56.000, I got from Bogota to Cali, non-stop except a short dinner break just outside Ibagué.

The mountains were spectacular. There is A LOT of new construction going on, flyways and tunnels, that should cut much of the time off. When it will be finished, I'll never know.

Got the LAST Mio from near the terminal to the south and the pirate home to the pueblo making the trip just a few minutes shy of 12 hours.

What a difference.
