Stores or street vendors that might carry size 13 (USA) / size 45 (COL) tennis shoes?

Stores or street endors that carry XL Colombian Soccer Jerseys (official or knock-off)?

fyi...Marinilla (close to Rionegro) has several shoe stores offering athletic shoes for 30,000-45,000

How about a mans size US 15 and a 3X extra tall for long sleeve shirts/coats in Medellin?

At 6'-7" and pushing 300 lbs I am hard pressed in the US to find reasonable priced clothing and shoes, always paying a premium at Nordstroms.

Last year in MDE I did find a knock-off 2x Nacional jersey. Actually very good quality, but was difficult to find, had to have my local paisa friends find.

Any shops in Medellin that cater to big and tall?

Thanks!

Hi CAtoMDE,

Have you conisdered looking for a local tailor? Or a local cobbler?

Thees sorts of little cottage businesses are still extant in the 3rd world and Colombia is no exception.

You may need some spanish to explain what you're after but if needs be you could take along a photo or a magazine clipping of the desired item(s) with you to show the craftsperson what style you would like.

A good tailor or cobbler will be able to make you a quality, to-measure clothing or shoes & almost certainly at a price that far undercuts what you would pay for similar back int the US.

Those cottage industries are there in Colombia. Why not utilize them? Expats seem to ignore the fact that these services are available & that they can provide you with well-made items. And, made to measure in the bargain.

One last note.... If the tailor or cobbler you find first is not to your liking just look around further; There will be others around and one of them will surely be able to meet your needs.

OK — HTH

There's a store here called Luber. I don't know if they are elsewhere. The had great dress shirts to fit my oldest's 20" neck. Great clothes. Not too expensive.

I should have said "here" meaning Cali. There are also some tailors that are worth their weight in gold. Same son had a suit made that looked fantastic on him for some absurdly low price compared to a tailored suit in the US.

Neighborhood tailers Herr in my area are a phenomenal bargain. Handmade pants and shirts @60 cop are a steal.

Great suggestions! Thanks all. Yes I will check with mi espousa Paisa for a recommendation around Medellin, she needs to network for me. I will be down mid October.

For the shoes it is a bit trickier so today I found 2 pairs of size 15 Nike's and one pair of a casual shoes (both new) in my closet which I will bring down.
