Spousal Retirement Visa?

Hi Everyone.

First time in the forum since planning to come to live later this year, probably in Sabeneta,

I'm 63 and my wife is 56 (July 2). If I am correct, we can both come to Colombia on tourist visas and apply for the retirement visa while in Colombia.

What I don't know is how this works for my spouse who does not have any social security income; only I do. So,
1. Does her age make a difference?
2. I'm sure we both have to get retirement visas, but will she be eligible? My social security covers the 3 times average wages and then some.
4. Did I see somewhere that a spouse is an extra ~$250?

Thanks, folks. Glad to be joining the conversation.

Paul

Dear Paul,

Welcome to the Colombia forum.

Your wife's age, 56, is not a problem.

You are assuming you both need full-on visas. According to visas-colombia.com, holders of most TP visas may have a dependent.
