Is there a service like Mailboxes, ETC. in either of these towns where packages are forwarded from Miami?
Thx.

I discovered that Mail Boxes ETC. ships to Medellin, Pereira, Armenia, and even Filandia. They have office in all these places according to http://www.mbeglobal.com/en/store-locator.
Additionally, Amazon can ship to most Colombian locations.

Since there is no national postal service in Colombia, the major international carriers (DHL, FedEx, Deprisa) have offices in most towns and cities. The final delivery is by van or motorcycle to your door.

Is the MBE store locator really accurate? It seems you can enter any pueblo, no matter how small, and find an MBE location. Hmm...

Steve,
Thanks for the YouTube videos; very helpful.
I noticed one from Boquete. That's where we are now but we're coming to Colombia. I wonder if you comment on the cities/pueblos you've visited in Colombia compared to Boquete. That would be huge for us.
Did you eventually settle in Filandia?
Many thanks.
Paul

Well, this is off topic, but briefly - my "eventually" hasn't arrived quite yet, so I am back in the land f ice and snow after my Colombian expeditions. As to a Boquete comparo, there is no such place in COL - of that size, or with that sort of expat population, or with that extent of gringo facilities (like Sugar n Spice and some of the other restaurants).
Everywhere in COL the costs are significantly lower and there is a huge variety of possible locations with the perfect temps. Unlike Panama, where there are but a few. The Colombians are, in my experience, more open and friendly and welcoming than elsewhere, and the geography is just as, if not more, spectacular.
English is not even remotely recognized most places, and even badly accented Spanish can be confusing in smaller towns. Which is a good thing, really. Forces one to focus!
You can PM me for questions - talking about my admiration for Filandia seems to get me in hot water . . . :)
