Simple thread. Post the city you live in now and also one or two cities you would move to if the mood hit you.
I live in Bucaramanga. If I were to move, I would go to Manizales or maybe Medellin. I like smaller places in general.

Neither Medellin or Manizales is ¨small¨. My take on it would be to take some time out of Buca and travel to the other cities and hang out till you find the one you like best. I spent two months in Buca and liked it okay, but it never appealed to me as a place to live permanently. For me, I´d be happy just about anywhere in the coffee region in Quindio, Risaralda or Caldas, and I also like Popayan. The climate is a big factor for me, I like the cool mountain air of the coffee region. Any city larger than Armenia would not really appeal to me to live in the city proper, I prefer pueblos that are half hour or an hour from the city.

Yea cafetero I've been here a full year now. I like it here a lot, but I wonder if I am doing myself a disservice by "setlling" here. This is the first time I have stayed in a foreign city for more than a month.
I should try at least one more place. If I don't like it, I can always come back here.

Pittsburgh was looking earlier toward Cali, so now (Medellín and Manizales) he seems to be headed in a better direction. Milder weather in the M's .. and, say most, less crime.
I'm looking forward to my first trip to Bucamaranga, and have made hotel reservations for the second week in May.
As Pittsburgh knows, I am interested in checking out the Ruitoque area -- just a bit south of Buca and its sister city of Floridablanca -- where the air is cooler at higher elevation and the 'paisaje' is spectacular (according to Pittsburgh).
I will also investigate Buca's Gringo Tuesdays promotion and the blackjack tables at Cacique C.C.
First, though, it's on to Medellín in April, where there are more Expat-centric gatherings than in Buca or here in Coffee Country.

I might have to add Pereira to my list as well... I've heard it's like a mini-Medellin.
ccmedia, if I'm still here in May, we will have to meet up.

I live in Manizales. Other than the fog and rain and old diesel buses, itis perfect for me. Nice cool climate, low crime, lots of mouuntain views, easy transport, relatively safe, nice (but restrained) people, lots of nature al around, good places to hike, run, bike. Good restaurants (once you find them), just enough clubs for drinks and dancing, relatively close to other cities, good gymnasuim, right size, not to big, not to small.
I heard Buca was even nicer, but the climate is too hot for me.
I will hopefully move to Armenia in about August. hat is pretty good spot as well. A little higher crime rate and scuzzier on the south side, anyway, and in some of the surrounding villages (guess you could say the same for Mani though).
I also wuldnt mind Santa Marta., but up in the hills if I was driver, towrads Minca...but realy that is too remote. Or maybe on the beach with coolocean breezes.. Some say Santa Marta is dirty. I dint really find it that bad but I didnt spend much time here. Just the historic district.
Medellin is 5 times the size of Manizales. I lived in Envigado and
