Republicans control Colombia

Colombia is a shining example of the kind of country the Republican congress of the US would love to have. It is a Republican´s dream come true here in Colombia because there are few if any social welfare programs, and the 1% controls everything. The 99% have no voice.

Examples:

1.Colombia has no unemployment insurance. You either work, mooch, steal or starve.

2. Colombia has a retirement program for just a very few. The average citizen never retires, they work till they drop or they beg on the streets.

3. There are no unions. Average wage for the 50% who are actually employed is $10 day, They earn that by working 12 hour days 6 days each week.

4. The only reason a majority of the population has Sunday off is because the Catholic Church insists on it so the droves of people can come to Mass and deposit money in the till.

5. Sales tax to support a bloated government and war machine is among the highest in the world, 19%, even on food.

6. Half the population is either unemployed or working under the table illegally. Street vendors support one fifth of all families.

7. Almost no one has access to clean water or clean air. Contamination and pollution are uncontrolled.

8. Homelessness percentage is among highest in world.

These are just a few examples of how the Republican president and Republican congress of the US wish they had it so good.
