Yesterday, the military was called into protect several grocery stores after looting occurred. It is rumored that there some of these grocery stores were affiliated with Farc causing stores to be ravaged by locals. It would be wise to stay away from these disturbances until everything has settled down. Stores that were looted here Armenia and Calarca.

There have been several articles in the past few days in El País covering this - the owners of the supermarkets are rumored to be testaferros or front men for FARC. This has occurred in several cities, here talking of Bogotá:
http://www.elpais.com.co/colombia/continuan-los-saqueos-a-supermercados-supercundi-y-merkandrea-en-bogota.html
Similarly, FARC has received unfriendly receptions, as when alias Timochenko has appeared in public in several cities as a Presidential candidate, he has been heckled and had eggs thrown at him:
http://www.elcolombiano.com/elecciones-2018-colombia/queman-bandera-de-farc-y-abuchean-a-timochenko-en-armenia-XF8124505
It would seem there are many in Colombia who do not exactly welcome the FARC with open arms, after decades of kidnappings, extortion, robberies and torture...too many Colombians have personal experience with this.

Whoa...I believe you are correct...the majority of Colombianos do not welcome FARC into mainstream politics. One has to wonder as to what the far-reaching effects of this will be...country-wise ?
Let's look at the past...There have been armed-groups participating in various conflicts for the past 60+ years in Colombia..and the next 60 years will probably be no different. If...and this is a big If...the violence spreads to the major cities in a regular pattern...then we all have a "situation". Esperamos que esto no ocurre. Buena Suerte ! Tranquilo.

I believe it is ELN related this time. This happened before and will continue and can affect any area. Unfortunately, the police and the government doesn't have form grip on any of this. :( Also occurred also in Monteria, Sincelejo and surrounding zones. Be safe my friends...

These are the D1 stores I presume?
Thats what I heard originally.

No variety or produce whatsoever

They are the Dollar Generals or Circle K's of Colombia, all over easy to find, cheap, fast lines, best prices on cleaning supplies, kitchen goods as milk and oil, wine, beer, sardines, frozen produce. For me serve a definite purpose in daily Colombian life.

supermercados supercundi was the actual place that was pillaged and adjoining stores. In Armenia, the military continues with closing off all access to surrounding roads.
