" Hola y buenos dias! My name is Christina. My roommate and I are coming to Costa Rica on August 28th and will be staying until October 9th. We will be visiting from the U.S. Virgin Islands and look forward to some mountains, lakes, and forests. We are beachgoers and can''t wait to jump in the Pacific: as we already live in the Caribbean. I am inquiring about all and any insights regarding this beautiful country. We will be renting a 4x4 and plan on traveling from north to south on the west coast. Looking for inexpensive accomodations and even renting apartments for 1 week at a time, along the coast. All suggestions appreciated. If anyone has any other hidden secrets they would like to share- Please do. Thankyou- and keep smiling! "

" Hi, Christina! I don''t know if you''ll be checking your e-mail while you''re down there or not, but thought I''d post this note just in case.......I am going to be at ""The Jungle House"" from Oct. 5th until Oct, 11th.....coming down to look at a house for sale there at Playa Matapalo. I live up in the very Northeast corner of Washington State on the Pend Oreille river, but will most likely be moving to Matapalo in November. If you happen to see this and find yourself near Matapalo, stop by and chat! I would be very interested in hearing what you have seen of Costa Rica during your stay there. Charlie Berghammer owns and operates ""Jungle House"" and you can check it out at: info@junglehouse.com. My name is Jim Torpey....I hope your visit to Costa Rica is/was enjoyable! "

Now that the trip is over I hope you will share some of your experiences with me. I am planning much the same trip starting on the N Pacific coast and traveling back down to Domincal and San Jose. Did you find any good safe inexpensive places to stay. I believe I will be driving in an older model 4X4. I do speak spanish so I hope I will be ok. Thanks, Fran
