Planning to travel here later this year for a few weeks. Just wondering what to expect price wise, amount of tourists (i'm more of an 'off the beaten path' kind of guy), lodging accommodations, etc...

Thanks for any help

Sorry, but there is no easy answer for your question...If you arrive over Easter, prices for rooms will be higher and with less selection. Weather varies throughout the year as does the amount of tourists, in specific areas.
You need to be more specific.
Check tripadvisor on the internet.

Sorry, I missed that you mentioned December in the subject space.
This is high season, so more tourists and prices will be higher but will vary due to amenities offered.
The weather will definitely warmer than 10 degrees below!

The Atlantic side has a low tourism rate at this time because of crime. Be sure to stay in place with good security. I have been warned that December is very rainy. The east side has a different weather pattern than the other parts of the country. The area around Playa Uva is very, very nice. When we were there last it was mostly almost deserted.
