Syrian does not mean Muslim, nor does Muslim mean terrorist.

I don't know the exact percentage, but many Syrians are Christian and have been since the earliest days of Christianity. I'm an Anglo Saxon American who has had many Syrian friends, both Christian and Muslim. They were equally good people.. They are now refugees because of the insane foreign policy of the US an d NATO.

thank you TicaLady! I'm not sure if you're right about why they are refugees but they are humans.

"This Thanksgiving, President Obama is calling for Americans to lend a helping hand to another group of pilgrims fleeing persecution.

“Nearly four centuries after the Mayflower set sail, the world is still full of pilgrims – men and women who want nothing more than the chance for a safer, better future for themselves and their families,” Obama said in his weekly address Thursday. “What makes America America is that we offer that chance.”

right?

The overriding issue is trust.
Desperate people do desperate things.
There are many educated and capable refugees migrating to other countries.
Most are good people and few can cause great problems.
How do we verify? How can a country leader keep you safe? Even though this has been used and abused through the centuries,it is still the number one responsibility of a country leader.

I agree Richardschlindler.

So most are okay maybe, but if 10% or 5% or only 2% are shooting people like flies??? And if not enough jobs are available to those in the country they are migrating to, even if supposedly good people, what will they do to if they have no food?

I do not believe I could rob anyone no matter how hungry I was. Perhaps pick fruit off of a tree hanging over a sidewalk. Or berries along side of the road.

Refuges with families especially, what would they do if they had no job?

Hunger pains are too much for any person to ignore. This not a weakness in character,it goes to the will live which is one of the strongest forces in the universe.
Owning a farm, I have a mental plan to initiate if it comes to this. Barter system, work for food. At that time it is safe to say no one has any money so this would be my answer. I don't know how anyone could handle starving people in the streets ie.central valley.

I taught my boys to hunt with bow and arrow and fish---we will never go hungry and no need to depend on a supermarket. We used to eat several deer, a couple hogs, wild turkey each year. Totally natural and God's gift to us!

Hi Gil. As you may remember,I call myself a homesteader/survivalist.
Survival takes a lot more than eating game and fish. Have you looked into survival websites? There you will find answers of items you should have on hand incase of a economic collapse. The nice thing is they give advise to everyone no matter where you live.Out in the country to living in a highrise condo. In almost all cases, you need not buy things you will never use.In good times or bad, these items can be used so you are not throwing money away. Chao.

Sounds like a good time to look into the whole picture of survival for sure---I was a Boy Scout and Be Prepared was our motto!
