Cooking in CR

Most of you can totally ignore my concerns, I won'd mind. But my research into this monumental life change leads me to some 'sustenance' questions.

As an ancient male who only started cooking 18 months ago when my wife of 54 years died. ... Right now I purchase protein (chicken or lamb) and prep misc vegetables, add 6 to 10 indian spices resulting in spectacular curry. I use Safron rice or quinoa as a filler. This is my main meal, over and over again it doesn't get old but I now thing about adapting my meager skills to life in CR. So, wondering...

1. Is there an distinct advantage to living in villages such as Grecia vs the populated areas around SanJose as far walking access to weekly farmer markets for food purchase?

2. My breakfast now is always eggs and pico de gaillo. Should be able to repeat that easily down there.

3. I hear about people periodically hiring cooks. Pros/cons. If I end up renting a room or sharing an apartment (a whole house makes no sense for me), bringing in a national might likely be frowned upon. But is there an advantage perhaps for cuisine lessons. Or ??

4. Should I bring down my special pans and knifes or are they either provided or inexpensive to purchase.. How about a basket or something to carry food from the market?

5. When sharing a refrigerator how does one keep their own food separated? Are small fridges available soas to avoid any issues?

Am I concerned over non-concerns? It's just that I am dreaming ahead in anticipation of my days in CR and can't wait to get into that warm climate. Brrr still cold in Oregon. But now is the time to plan, given adequate information.

So, any cooking thoughts are encouraged and appreciated.
