Grapes for wine do not grow in Costa Rica, so all wine is imported. There is
average white table wine from Argentina, Chile, and mixed, sold under brand names Clos (biggest) and others.
Boxed wines are very popular, and more environmentally responsible.
Can be purchased at most grocery stores, liquor stores, and some corner pulperias. Costs about $7-8.
Sigh.

We tried growing some on the farm, but it wasn't successful ...

My wife and I regularly drink white wine with dinner. We mostly drink wines from Chile (Undurraga, Viu Mante, Santa Rita 120), which are reasonably priced (typically 4500 to 6000 colones per bottle). California wines tend to be a bit pricier.

Klos is only $6 here and my tenants drink it .I tasted their Cabernet Sauvignon.. not too bad but drink it all it does not hold up in the box ,,then I would use it to cook with......
