Building Codes in Costa Rica?

Post New Topic

I am semi-retired. I have gotten used to living alone in US studio apartments of about 200-300 square feet. The building codes here do not allow new construction around that size. I am exploring retirement in Costa Rica. I would like to read about anyone's experiences with hassles, legal or otherwise, pursuing tiny/small house options, a yurt, or just to be thorough, living in a tent for months. I hope to avoid the expense of the usual type of house people build here in the US.
Thanks

I have seen a tiny house community in South Pacific area advertised on Craig's list .... if your not interested in that area, they may have info on how to do it?

Now that I think of it, container homes are around that size and there are many here. I think there is a container home builder in San Ramon? Maybe? He is also advertising on Craigslist..... hope some of this leads to some answers... would love it if you post your findings here... interested....

Having a yurt, tent or other 'portable' housing, you could find your home and items gone, very quickly...
