Playasdelcoco, You are jumping to conclusions. I happen to know the author of this book. She is not an opportunist, but a kind and giving member of her community - also fun and intelligent. The book was well researched. You should read it, maybe you would learn something! This is an unsolicited testimonial!

Yes, the Ann Bender case is hot again. Neither CNN nor 48 Hours gave updates on Ann's well being, 4th trial, $600 million missing, or $20 million nature reserve. Who owns it? Where are her jewels? Is she guilty? Come hear details at the lecture.

Easyflow, I don't care about how nice and how funny the author is! I don't need to learn anything from her! Even now on channel 62 they are showing Ann's testimony again right now! Only God and John and Ann know what happened not any author! Stop exploiting the victims and their families!-They have been through enough! The first post here announcing the meeting with the author it was like this was about something festive! If something like this would happen to your family would you be rejoicing that someone would be writing and giving interviews and debates about it? You should pray for everyone involved instead!

Crazy jungle Love will be available on both Amazon and Kindle, first book published by The Costa Rica Star, whose reporter covered all five years of Ann's ordeal.

Yes, but if your family member had suffered terribly at the hands of a corrupt justice system, despite their mental and physical health challenges, would you not want their story told? Some people don't care to read history, magazines or newspapers either....

Carol, About some people not reading newspapers: I read all the newspapers of Costa Rica (Spanish and English) some of Canada, Portugal, Jerusalem and CNN online, not to mention others! You mentioned something about the jewels but Ann in her interview to HLN says that the authorities took them as well as everything else. In fact I think that her story is being told really loud! Not everybody who has had such a tragedy in their family have had that type of exposure and access to the media! I think the most powerful tool people can use in her favor is prayer not debates! The debate is free but there is a book involved and Ann is not the one who wrote it!-Since she says she is so broke financially because everything was taken away from her then the proceedings of the book should be to help her with her legal costs! If this had happened to you Carol, would you like for me to take advantage of your situation to write a book about your tragedy? Like the Bible says: do unto others as you would like for others to do unto you. Whatsoever we sow we shall reap! We sow compassion we reap compassion! If Ann or John were my children I wouldn't like for people to gather to debate the most painful event in my life and in their lives! Instead I would appreciate if people would get together to pray for justice, physical and emotional restoration and restitution. We can't turn other's people pain into a soap opera!

The "Crazy Jungle Love" event on 3/31 is not a debate. Sorry for your confusion. The event will focus on an unfortunate expat experience, and what we can each learn from it. As you can probably imagine, not all the details of this case have been published. Clearly you know as much as you wish to know about it. No worries! There are other expats, perhaps, who prefer a more complete picture of what could happen to ANY of us here. We have all prayed for Ann and her family.
