Any Canadians here who have renewed their Pensionato Residency?

The Immigration office in Liberia told my husband that we will need the Income letters from the Government of Canada just like in the beginning.
However those letters (at the time) needed to be notarized and authenticated.
I have mentioned here before that there is a lady in Canada who has assisted many, many Canadians with their documents. She charges a fee but then after we send her the documents she takes care of everything (notarization, authentication by the Foreign affairs, authentication by the Embassy of Costa Rica, deposit in the Embassy bank account, sending them via DHL to Costa Rica).
She tells me that she has never been asked by any expat 2 years later to take the Government letters (again) to the lawyer for notarization and to the Foreign Affairs for authentication.
I know how it works for the Americans. They just call their Embassy in San Jose and they get the social insurance document via email already stamped (Apostilla)
What I really would like to know is how Canadians have done that when they renewed their Cedula.
Have you just given the Immigration the letters from the Canadian Government without being notarized and authenticated?
The Government of Canada is already giving us a hard time due to our request to mention "For Life"'.
They already wrote "for Life" 2 years ago.
Kohl, I know you have Canadian friends and you yourself had to go through this process.
Thanks.
