" My partner and I want to move to Cyprus and would like very much to have contact with anyone else who has done the same for advice and exchange of ideas. Especially anyone who has moved there from the UK to start a business, maybe a bar or cafe or B&B which is our ultimate aim. If you hve done this please contact me by e-mail. Thanks Janet. "

Hi, I have a question I am contacting you from a TV show in the USA. Trying to find interesting stories about people who are currently living abroad both permanently and temporarily. They also should be doing something signifigantly different from what they did in their country of origin. Some examples are a Lawyer turned artist etc... We are shooting a story in Turkey and one other one possibly in Azerbaýjan or Turkmenýstan. I would like to find more stories in this region, Greece, Cyprus inlcuded. Have you actually moved as you planned. Might I ask what you are currently doing in Cyprus? And if you know of any people with interesting stories? Please e-mail me at nneurath@wellergrossman.com Thanks,

Hi
I moved to Cyprus with my wife on a temporary basis. However, we now need to stay a little longer than originally planned. We came over, had a look first at areas and properties to rent. I have been contemplating working here as the cost of living is spiralling, as a web/graphic designer. New legislation means that EU citizens can now work in Cyprus. What you have to be careful about is residency status, and allowances like car tax. It is best to go to someone who can give you the complete low down, and who preferably will organise everything for you. Customs is mine field here for the unwary as we recenty learnt to our cost.
Best of luck Victor http://www.geocities.com/vsaumarez

I just noticed your message. My partner and I have just purchased a plot in Tala, Paphos and will be taking possession in a year's time. In 4 weeks we will be there to view progress. The region is spectactular and appears to offer good investment potential with a good quality of life. David

We are moving to Paphos next summer and are going to visit Paphos International School in November. We have some friends that have just enrolled their daughter in the school. They have a website at The International School of Paphos. You can also email them for details on isop@spidernet.com.cy.
Hope this has been of use to you.
Good luck
