I m a retired American currently living in Germany, but I have decided to move to someplace that is warmer and less expensive than here. I have narrowed my choices down to Cyprus or Crete.

1. Average range of cost of 2 bedroom (3 room) apartment NOT on beach with parking

2. Average utility costs
What type type of heating do you have?
Do most apartments have gas
or electric for cooking?

3. How difficult is it to find an apatment on the ground floor with only a few small steps into the apartment?

4. Can you find someone to clean house and do ironing? If so, what is the average cost?

5. Are there shops that stock international foods, such as Asian or Mexican?

6. What about the availability, type of food served and overall quality of restaurants?

7. Does Cyprus have an expat retire community? If so, what are the main countries of origin and are there organizations for them?

8. Can you bring in cats? If so, what re the requirements?

9. What is the average cost of a ´-8 year old used car? Can expats drive with their foreign drier's license or tht plus an international driver's license?

10. What are the advantages of living in Cyprus compared to other areas of southern Europe?

Please e-mail me privately with any information anyone can provide. lindalehnert@hotmail.com
