Buying a property management business

Hi

I currently own and run a letting agency in the UK and we are now seriously considering moving abroad to get a better lifestyle and weather. We are seriously fed up with just about everything in the UK - government, cost of living, taxes, traffic, weather, crime, education, quality of food - you name it! I would ideally like to buy a trading property management business which looks after and maintains rental property in the Paphos area, although may consider something else, but think it is best to stick to what I know. Does anyone know of any such businesses for sale, or any site or agency that deals in selling businesses. we are coming to Cyprus in October 2004 to have a look at property to purchase so could visit any relevant businesses during the period 5.10 - 12.10

Hi, a company based in Limassol may be able to help you, their website is really informative www.living-cyprus.com. We've had tons of advice from them with regards to finding a home etc, our contact was Chris Calogirou. good luck

Hi. I am also considering relocating to Cyprus for similar reasons, together with my wife Lorraine and two daughters 12 and 14.

I currently run a computer software business, but want to move into property related businesses. I am considering property management and also property development. I think the former may be easier to get off the ground. I would need a business partner who knows the game since this is not my area of expertise.
I have good experience of managaing people, schedules and projects and have a keen interest in property.

Have you considered starting a new business, rather than buying an existing one? If so, and you would consider a partner, please talk to me.

Hello Raj,
We have just seen your message about finding a business partner. We are a very hard working couple who are torn between selling our well established business here in the UK or selling up and moving to Cyprus. Like lots of other british people we have had enough. It's time we made the move. I was just wondering if things have progressed for yourselves or you are still waiting for a partner. We have already took the plunge and bought an apartment my partner just needs a push in going the whole way and moving, which he will!

It would be good to hear how it went for you.

Hi Irene. We are going over in April to look at properties and find as much information as we can while we are out there.

I intend to make a purchase at some stage this year. I also plan to make another few fact-finding trips, and if all looks well, will start looking/planning the business with more zest. If not, then the property will become an investment and a holiday home, so I don't think we can lose out.

I love the country, but am a little concerned about how open the Cypriots are to foreigners starting businesses there.

What are your plans for business? Are you in property development?
I would like to hear how you get on and what/where you have bought property.

Many thanks.

Regards,
Raj
