MOVING TO LIMASSOL

I am currently a serving Warrant Officer in the Army and I am due to retire in Feb 07, after 22 years service. My wife and I then intend to relocate to Cyprus with our 17 year old son. We are considering moving to the Limassol area, as we have been informed that Limassol probably offers the better choice of collages for our son. I am unsure of what assistance, if any you are able to offer, but I would greatly appreciate any help in the following areas:

Collages - my son is studying A level Business Studies, Maths and History. I would appreciate names of suitable collages with contacts details.

Property - Initialling we are considering renting a furnished property, before buying a permanent residence. Suitable agents details would be appreciated please.

Work - My wife is currently a Stock Control Manager for Tesco, though also has nursing and butchery qualifications. I have a wide range of skills in leadership & management (degree level), accountants (double entry book keeping, payroll etc), IT (including IT security) health & safety (NEBOSH General Certificate) and teaching (Basic Methods of Instruction, 2 years experience).

Any assistance that you are able to offer in any of the above areas will be greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Davies

We're moving to the Limassol area within the next 3 months or so, we bought a bungalow in Pyrgos. This is in fact our third property buy in Cyprus, this last one is where we'll retire to. Last time there we also bought a 2 bedroomed apartment (in construction) which is due to be finished October/November time. I'm looking to rent it out as an income-earner. It's based just north of the centre of Limassol in a nice residential area and with quick access to the town and the motorway. Let me know if you're interested.

With regard to employment is is not as easy as one would think to find the right position but I would suggest contacting an employment agency such as

Good luck

well regards real straight dealings with property purchase there is a prob. All concrete stuctures are suspect, the reinforcing bars delaminate expand quickly. Look at a twenty year old stuctures for instance cracks every where. I suspect the sand that the concrete is made with is salty therefor premature corrosion. Also concrete is best when its slowely cured with as much dowsing with water as it can take, not so in cypus. Try a stone built structure one that you can walk all the way around, try a small villiage like lofou twenty or so Ks from limmasol, north up the main drag and off to the left towards Protaris. a decentish agent would be Rita who works for kaimar consulting in limm a small office that cyps use i had good service from her remember no concrete ps i am not an agent just a fellow traveller
