Finance jobs in Cyprus and also renting

Hi everyone

I must say this is by far one of the most useful websites about Cyprus!

I was wondering if any of you could help me. I am planning to move to Cyprus in september with my husband-to-be. I've got a degree from oxford and am a part-qualified chartered accountant. I want to move to Cyprus because it's the only place apart from the UK where I can finish my ACA studies and I'm fed up with England.

Does anyone know of any english speaking firms of chartered accountants that would be willing to consider me? I know a lot of you seem to own your own business' or employ accountants so maybe you could give me their details and I can contact them?

Also, I'd like to sort out somewhere to rent for the first 3 months after we arrive (or longer if the place is nice). Ideally, I'd like somewhere in the centre of Nicosia. Does anyone have a place they're renting out or have any advice on where rentals are advertised? Googling it only seems to come up with dodgy looking places!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tam

Hi Tam,
I'm living in Paphos, and I'm pretty sure you won't get what you want in this District of Cyprus. Best area to try is the capital, Nicosia - maybe a lesser chance for Limassol.
But did you know that the Oxford Alumni Assoc. has a branch for Cyprus, who are nearly all based at Nicosia? If you get on to their local secretary, he might have some ideas or contacts. If you've not already joined up in UK, check out their website http://www.alumni.ox.ac.uk/

Hi Terry

Hadn't thought about joining the alumni network. That was a good idea!

I think the job side should be fine. But now my big problem is finding somewhere to live. Google just doesn't seem to deliver the goods. What's the best way to find a rental property in Cyprus? I would like somewhere furnished and with a communal pool. Is that a possibility in Nicosia?
